A motorist got quite a scare coming over the Williamsburg Bridge this afternoon. Heading into work at around 2 p.m., he began experiencing electrical problems and brought the car to a stop near Suffolk Street. The man told us he feared an explosion and immediately got out and called 911. It took firefighters a few minutes to extinguish the fire. They blocked off Delancey Street westbound, meaning cars coming off the bridge were forced to turn on Clinton. The motorist told us he’d complained to the manufacturer about electrical problems in the past. Traffic is once again moving from the bridge.
