Seward Park Loses Another Large Tree in Storm

Must Read

We were sorry to see another large tree had come crashing down in the storm a few nights ago. The tree was on the southern edge of Seward Park and fell onto East Broadway. There was still a lot of clean up to be done as of this morning.

The Seward Park Conservancy posted some additional photos on their IG account with this note:

“After the storm this week, we sadly lost one of our beautiful Siberian Elm trees, estimated to be 90 years old.

Tree cover is crucial for our park, especially in providing shade during these hot summer months. To keep Seward Park a flourishing greenspace and combat tree loss, we planted 40+ new trees this spring!”
