Here are some upcoming local events that are on our radar:
- In ICP’s Art Highlight Tours, join recent graduates of ICP’s One-Year Certificate Programs for 15-minute talks providing more insight into their projects on view in Shared Spaces: ICP Recent Graduate Exhibition. In this Art Highlight Tour on Friday, July 12th at 4:00pm, Silvia Saponaro discusses the project “Threads.”
- Richard King joins Ann Stephenson’s :young but fierce reading series,” READINGS AT PARKSIDE, Sunday, July 14th at 5:00pm, to read and discuss his new book on Arthur Russell “Travels Over Feeling”.
- Musician, composer and author Howard Fishman returns to Joe’s Pub on Saturday, July 20th, at 7:00pm, for his first show since the pandemic, joined by his band and special guests including Russell Farhang on violin, Mark McLeann on drums, and Nathan Peck on upright bass.
- The documentary about Arleen Schloss, “It’s A to Z: The Art of Arleen Schloss,” makes its world premiere at the New York City Chain Film Festival, as one of the opening night films on Friday, July 26 at 8pm, located at 312 West 36th Street, 3rd floor. The film, directed by Stuart Ginsberg, is a feature-length documentary about Arleen Schloss, an underground artist, director, and curator who became an influential figure in the downtown New York art scene from the 1970s through the 1990s.
