Here are some upcoming events that are on our radar:
- Awkward Sex…And The City celebrates its 10 Year Anniversary at Club Cumming on Wednesday, August 30th from 8:00 – 9:30pm. Hosted by comedian and podcaster Natalie Wal, the show features different comedic storytellers “reliving intimate tales about their sex lives and breaking barriers about sex and dating. The show pairs sexual inclusion with humor and sheds light on the awkward universal experience we all know and love.”
- Moment NYC presents “Everybody LES Fest,” a live, communal music experience celebrating Lower East Side music and community at Drom on Wednesday, August 30th at 7:00pm, featuring members of Groove Collective, Los Cumpleaños, the Hieroglyphics, Subterra Soundsystem, the New JBs, special guests & “live music experiments.”
- (Le) Poisson Rouge, is hosting Herbert Holler’s Freedom Party on September 1st at 6:00pm. Featuring beloved New York DJ Herbert Holler, Freedom Party is (allegedly) the longest-running old school dance party in the city. The party highlights the best of dance, R&B, hip-hop and more while playing hits from the 1970s to today.
- As part of the site specific installation, “There is nothing you can think that is not the moon,” handmade lanterns, assembled from photographs of objects collected and intensively documented by the artists Rhonda Weppler and Trevor Mahovsky, will be given away in a family friendly event at LMCC’s The Art Center on Governor’s Island on Saturday, September 3rd, 6:30 – 8:30pm.
