Here are some upcoming events that are on our radar:
- Arts on Site hosts The Performance Party on Saturday, June 10th at 8pm at 12 St Marks Place 3F. The event provides artists with a platform to share their work and encourages community support for the arts. The evening features artists from dance, music, visual art, and theater.
- The Public Theater has announced its 23/24 Season, which includes a new coming-of-age musical titled HELL’S KITCHEN from Grammy Award-winning artist Alicia Keys and Pulitzer Prize finalist playwright Kristoffer Diaz.
- The Tribeca Film Festival kicks off Wednesday, June 7, featuring an array of international films and many NY-centric stories that we will be covering, including a documentary about local fashionista Patricia Field (Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada, Ugly Betty) in Happy Clothes: A Film About Patricia Field, which takes a deep dive into the storied life of this iconic costume designer.
- Two local photo exhibitions presented by Abrons Arts Center opened yesterday and run through June 30 as part of this year’s outdoor Photoville Festival 2023. (In)Visible Guides is an art and research project created by Perfect City/The Catcalling Project and residents of a Lower East Side shelter for domestic violence survivors. And Clayton Patterson’s Front Door features rarely-seen images from the renowned photographer, who has documented the unique cultural ecosystem of the Lower East Side for over 40 years.
- The Musueum at Eldridge brings its long-running annual block party, the Egg Rolls, Egg Creams, and Empanadas Street Festival, back on Sunday, June 18 from 12-4pm, featuring a medley of Jewish, Chinese, and Puerto Rican tastes, sights, sounds, and crafts for folks of all ages.
