Coming up on Feb. 4 (yes, that’s Super Bowl Sunday) the Seward Park High School Alumni Association is partnering with the Big Apple Chapter of the American Political Items Collectors for a political memorabilia show and sale on the Lower East Side.

The show takes place in the Grand Hall at St. Mary’s Church, 440 Grand St. from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m.

You’ll be able to browse and/or by political buttons and other fascinating items from the 19th Century onward. There will also be a small exhibit dedicated to Al Smith, the legendary New York governor, who was raised on the Lower East Side. 90 years ago, Smith won the Democratic nomination for president.

Big Apple Chapter president Tony Lee says of the upcoming show, “You will see more vintage, authentic political material in one room than you will find in a lifetime of searching antique shops and flea markets.”
