Thanks to Lo-Down readers Paul Cackler and Julie Huang for sending along photos from the scene on East Broadway this morning, where the block between Rutgers and Pike Street has been closed off due to a manhole fire. Officers on the scene told us there was a gas leak, which had apparently caused the manhole fire. Everything seemed to be under control, but the smell of gas was fairly strong as of about 9:30 a.m.
