Notice something missing at this intersection? Yes, the Citi Bike station at Grand and Henry streets has been temporarily removed so that crews can complete milling and paving work. The same goes for the station at Madison and Montgomery.
Thanks to Michael Marino of Friends of Corlears Hook Park for bringing this one to our attention. Citi Bike customer service informed him it’s unclear how long the stations will be out of commission but that users should “continue to review (Citi Bike’s) website and app for station alerts and updates.” Marino’s organization requested additional docks at the Corlears Hook station to make up for the shortage, but has not received a reply.
The Grand Street and Madison Street bike share docks, a good distance away from the nearest subway stations, are among the most used in the neighborhood.
Citi Bike has no system to notify users in advance about service changes.
Station Update: Henry St & Grand St has been removed for milling & paving. It will be returned to service once street repairs are complete.

I, too, have repeatedly asked for more docking stations at Corlears Hook park. This was even before the Grand St. docking stations were temporarily removed. Even now, all I get back from Citibike are nice, vague words, but no action. The solution to the problem of insufficient docking stations on the far LES is obvious. Why won’t Citibike act on this?
