Another day – another hotel nearing completion – and news of another liquor license application. You’re looking at the the new Fairfield Inn by Marriott, located at 95 Henry St. (Pike Street). Documents filed with Community Board 3 show the operators will be asking for a wine license at this month’s “State Liquor Authority” committee hearing.
The hotel’s restaurant will be open from 7 a.m.-11 p.m. The name on the application is Jia Shu Xu of Flushing, Queens. The 7-story Fairfield Inn has 90 rooms, and a swimming pool. Work on this project began in 2010 and is being overseen by architect Michael Yang and United Construction. As you might recall, the site is the former location of the Hong Kong Supermarket, which burned down in 2009.
The hotel is expected to be open by July. The Fairfield Inn is one of at least 13 new hotel projects on the Lower East Side.
