The Lower East Side Employment Network is holding a “prescreening event” for jobs at Basketball City this Wednesday at 3 p.m. The new facility on Pier 36 (Montgomery Street) is hiring for front desk and maintenance positions (starting pay $8/hr). Applicants should go to Henry Street Settlement’s Workforce Development Center, 99 Essex Street. You need to be a Lower East Side resident to apply.
As part of his agreement with Community Board 3, Basketball City owner Brice Radler agreed to give local residents a first crack at positions in the sprawling complex. The LES Employment Network is a collaboration among several neighborhood non-profit organizations.
