Next Monday afternoon, French Open winner Li Na will make an appearance in Sara D. Roosevelt Park, taking part in health & fitness activities with kids and signing autographs.
Li Na is the first Chinese player to win a Grand Slam tournament. She goes into the U.S. Open ranked number four in the world. The set-up inside the park will include a mobile “SmashZone” unit, which includes a “kid-zized” tennis court.
We got word of Li Na’s appearance from City Councilwoman Margaret Chin, who helped bring the event to the neighborhood. Li Na’s appearance is scheduled to take place from 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m Monday, August 22nd.
