The Red Cross has provided temporary housing for about 90 residents displaced in the fire – including 20 children. Overnight they set up a reception center at IS 131 on Hester Street, where more than 200 people were cared for. Councilmember Margaret Chin is on her way to the scene. Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver has staffers here as well.
