Your Chance to Speak Out as City Competes For Flood Protection Funding
As you’re probably aware, the city is preparing to build a $335 million flood barrier along the East River from 23rd Street to Montgomery Street. Late last month, the mayor announced the allocation of another $100 million for flood protection in the Two Bridges area, extending to the Battery. They’re hoping to augment those funds with up to $1 billion available in a federal competition. Part of the application process involves holding two public hearings.
