Volunteers Needed For Huge Vision Urbana Turkey Distribution

Must Read

The Lower East Side nonprofit organization, Vision Urbana, is gearing up for a big turkey giveaway tomorrow (Saturday, Nov. 19). It’s the largest turkey distribution event for the neighborhood’s NYCHA and Section 8 developments. An important community service any time, but especially this year with rising food costs hitting families especially hard. We’re told that more than 1,800 families will be served. Families will pick up turkeys and chickens at 65 Norfolk St. from 10 AM to 2 PM, and food will also be delivered to residents in their buildings.

Vision Urbana is looking for volunteers to help on Saturday. Just show up at the distribution site if you’re available.

The event is made possible, in part, through the support of State Assembly member-elect Grace Lee, U.S. Representative-elect Dan Goldman, State Sen. Brian Kavanagh, City Council member Chris Marte, the Hispanic Federation and the Food Bank for NYC.
