–Developer Michael Shah is buying a large collection of buildings from Silvershore Propoerties for more than $100 million. Most of the properties are in Brooklyn, but a couple are located on the Lower East Side. [The Real Deal]

–Desiree Cancela fled Puerto Rico for New York City after Hurricane Maria. She’s gotten a job and her daughter has been accepted at Manhattan Charter School on the Lower East Side.
