Man at East Broadway Station Hurls Rock at MTA Booth, Demands Money

Police are trying to find a suspect who tried to rob an MTA toll booth employee at the East Broadway Station this past week.

The incident happened Wednesday at about 10 p.m. The suspect threw a large stone at the token booth, shattering the window. He reportedly told the worker he had a gun and demanded money. The employee, who was in the middle of counting cash, refused to hand over any money.

The suspect was seen on surveillance video walking up the stairs with a cane. he headed off across henry Street in the direction of the Rutgers Houses.
