Police have identified the man they believe tried to rape a woman after following the victim into her apartment on the Lower East Side early Friday morning.
He’s 41-year-old Robert Adams, pictured in the “Wanted” poster you see here. He’s described as 5-foot-9, weighing 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
As previously reported, the suspect went inside a building at 139 Norfolk St. (near Rivington St.), apparently in pursuit of a woman who lived on an upper floor of the building. Cops say the woman was shoved through her front door, where the suspect groped her and tried to take off her clothes. The woman screamed and the man fled.
If you can help locate Adams, please contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477).
