If you’re concerned about neighborhood traffic congestion issues, you’ll want to keep next week’s meeting of Community Board 3’a transportation committee on your radar.
Among the pertinent agenda items:
- A discussion about gridlock on Clinton Street leading to the Williamsburg Bridge. In recent years, the situation has worsened, with traffic often backed up several blocks to the east on Grand Street and on East Broadway.
- A presentation from the Department of Transportation on a proposal to add protected bike lanes on Delancey Street. This is part of the city’s plan leading up to the closure of the L Train in 2019.
- A presentation from DOT on improvements planned for Water Street at Gouverneur Slip and Cherry Street.
- A discussion of the community board’s, “position regarding (the) assignment of intercity bus stops af‎ter (the) accumulation of violations.”  This agenda item was added after CB3 learned this week that Yep Tours, Inc., a very unpopular Pike Street operator, had been granted a temporary permit.
The meeting will take place Wednesday, April 5, 6:45 p.m., at 70 East 4th St. (Downtown Art).
