
Coming up next week, Summerstage heads down to the Lower East Side for several concerts at the East River Park Bandshell.
The downtown portion of the annual series kicks next Tuesday evening, August 9, with a performance by Alan Palomo’s Neon Indian. The Brooklyn-based electronic producer debuted Vega Intl. Night School last year. The next evening, local venue, Nublu presents the Nublu Orchestra and a collaboration between Wadada Leo Smith and DarkMatterHalo. Puerto Rican singer Tony Vega is featured Thursday, August 11. One night later, award-winning actor Roger Guenveur Smith brings his solo show, Rodney King, to Summerstage. Carolyn Dorfman Dance is on stage August 13, followed by DJ Spinna celebrating Earth, Wind & Fire the next evening.
