New York primary day has finally arrived. Registered Democrats and Republicans get their chance to weigh in on Hillary, Bernie, Donald, etc. But there’s also a special election in the 65th Assembly District. Candidates vying to replace former Assemblyman Sheldon Silver include: Democrat Alice Cancel, Republican Lester Chang, Working Families Party candidate Yuh-Line Niou and Green Party candidate Dennis Levy.

Polls are open until 9 p.m. if you need to look up your polling location, click here. You need to ask for a separate ballot for the special election. As long as you are a registered voter, you can participate in the local election (you do not need to be a registered Democrat of Republican).

Did you have trouble voting? The state attorney general has set up a hot line: 1-800-771-7755.
