A fire broke out last night at the Boe Fook Funeral Home, located on lower Ludlow Street, near Canal Street.
According to the Post, the building was heavily damaged and is being inspected by the Department of Buildings today. Sources told the tabloid, that ‘the fire may have been sparked by a ceremonial fireplace used for burning pieces of paper with prayers and offerings written on them.”
The home is located next door to the new Metrograph movie theater. We’re told by Michael Lieberman, the cinema’s director of publicity, that the fire was contained and the Metrograph was undamaged last night.
