There were wedding bells on Orchard Street as the holiday weekend got underway. Mark Miller, longtime owner of the building on the northeast corner of Broome and Orchard streets, sent along these photos and details. Phil Worthington and Monica Trejo planned to say their vows on the sidewalk outside the building because it’s where they met. But Miller offered them the empty commercial space in his building for the wedding and reception on Thursday (Worthington is a tenant).
It was a multicultural affair. There was Mexican food (Trejo is from Mexico) as well as pickled herring and pickles. Worthington is Polish/English from London. He’s a founder of the technology company Livestream. She’s an architect. As you can probably tell from the photos, this was an informal affair. A religious ceremony will take place in Mexico later this year.
