Almost a month ago we told you about the Lowline’s plan to bring a technology lab to a vacant building of the Essex Street Market for six months beginning in September. It’s the next phase of their campaign to build a 60,000 sq. ft. park in an historic former trolly station below Delancey Street. Since launching a Kickstarter June 9, the Lowline has raised more than $150,000. They have another $50,000 to go in the next two days in order to fund construction of the lab.
The campaign has almost exceeded the $155,000 raised in a very successful crowdfunding effort back in 2012. If they make their $200,000 goal this time around it will represent a category record on Kickstarter.
