The November 25th “hit and run” happened right outside the Bowery Mission. The driver, Danny Lin of Brooklyn, was charged with criminally negligent homicide. Perry, 57, struggled with homelessness most of his life and often stayed at the mission. Not long before his death, Perry was interviewed by Storied.tv. You can see that interview here:
Perry was a member of the Bowery Mission’s photography club. Some of his photos and those of seven other club members will be on display Sunday in an exhibition titled, “Through My Lens.” It will be held in the dining hall at the mission. The exhibit is part of the LES Art Drive, a one-day silent auction benefiting the Bowery Mission. We wrote about that event the other day.
