During the summer, we reported on a slump in business being experienced by some Essex Street Market vendors. They had been calling on the city to step up marketing efforts. At the very least, the merchants wanted to see better signage outside the historic facility. That’s now happened. In recent days, the NYC Economic Development Corp. which operates the market, installed large displays on either side of each entrance, highlighting each vendor. The Essex Street Market will eventually be moved to a new facility on the south side of Delancey Street as part of the bif Essex Crossing project, but that’s several years away. In the meantime, the current market remains OPEN FOR BUSINESS!
