Delancey Street Associates, the development team for Essex Crossing, is putting the word out for a community visioning session next Wednesday.
The meeting, taking place at Grand Street Settlement, is meant to gather feedback for a 15,000 square foot park that will be created as part of the 1.9 million square foot mixed use project.
The developers opened the visioning process back in March before a meeting of Community Board 3’s parks committee. At that gathering, speakers implored Delancey Street Associates to launch a more robust outreach process, including visioning events separate from CB3.
The developers have hired West 8, a landscape architecture firm that will be charged with designing a space along Broome Street. The park is included in phase 1 of Essex Crossing construction, set to begin next spring.
Again the visioning meeting is happening May 28, a week from today, at Grand Street Settlement, 80 Pitt St. It begins at 7:15 p.m.
