Pocket Utopia, the little gallery at 191 Henry St., is moving to Chelsea.  According to Art F City, founder Austin Thomas has decided to merge with the Hansel and Gretel Picture Garden, located on West 22nd St. The Lower East Side space will close next month after the current show, Summer Wheat’s Everything Under the Sun: Moon and Stars, wraps up.

“The short statement is instead of having two small galleries we’re going to have a bigger one,” Thomas said. Pocket Utopia made the move to the LES from Bushwick. “I wanted to bring Bushwick to the Lower East Side and now I’m doing reverse gentrification,” she jokingly told the site. “I don’t think art is predicated on where you live.”
