You can drop off your tree at numerous locations across the city from January 4-12.  Here on the Lower East Side, your best bet is Corlears Hook Park or Tompkins Square Park.  On January 11 and 12, you can bring your tree to Tompkins for on-the-spot chipping (you’ll be able to keep some of the mulch). The wood chips created by the program are used in parks and gardens across the city.  Also, the NYC Department of Sanitation is offering special curbside collection through January 15.  Click here for more info.
