Landmarks Commission Protects Seward Park Library

A short time ago, the Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to designate the Seward Park Library, located at 192 East Broadway. The 1909 Renaissance inspired building is one of 67 libraries throughout the city funded by Andrew Carnegie. Commissioners praised the library not only for its architecture but also for the key role it played in the Lower East Side’s immigrant experience. More to come.
