Breaking: Bad Accident Snarls Traffic on Williamsburg Bridge

Must Read

An accident involving several cars shut down all Manhattan-bound lanes of the Williamsburg Bridge this morning.  It didn’t take long for emergency crews to pull all of the wrecked vehicles off the roadway.  All lanes are back open, although traffic is moving slowly.  At least two people were transported to area hospitals.  Gothamist reported eight victims were hospitalized at Bellevue, seven of them in serious condition.

  1. I remember that they took the concrete lane dividers away after a serious accident occurred several months ago and now another accident without the dividers…the problem is that it is a downhill ramp on the bridge to Delancey Street and alot of drivers speed up to try to catch the traffic lights when they are green and by speeding they do not relize how little room they have to manuver if the cars in front of them break quickly or have to slow down. Very dangerous drivers have to pay attention on that bridge.
