If you’re driving in or out of Lower Manhattan this weekend, you’ll want to take note of this. Construction work on the Manhattan, Brooklyn and Williamsburg bridges will cause motorists some headaches.
Here are te details from DOT:
The Manhattan-bound roadway of the Brooklyn Bridge will be closed on Saturday from 12:01 am to 7 am and Sunday from 12:01 am to 9 am for rehabilitation of the ramps and approaches. Manhattan-bound motorists will be detoured to the Manhattan Bridge or may choose other crossings.
The Brooklyn Bridge/Frankfort Street exit from the northbound FDR Drive will close at 11 pm on Friday. Motorists should use the prior South Street exit. The Brooklyn Queens Expressway eastbound exit to the Brooklyn Bridge will close at 11:30 pm on Friday. Motorists should proceed to the following Manhattan Bridge exit or use the prior Brooklyn Battery Tunnel (pay toll) exit for access to Manhattan. Note: One of three eastbound lanes to Brooklyn will be closed from 7 am to 2 pm Saturday to facilitate NYCDOT Bridge maintenance work. The ramp to the southbound FDR Drive at Robert F. Wagner Sr. Place and Robert F. Wagner Sr. Place eastbound between Pearl Street and South Street will be closed from 11 pm Friday to 6 am Monday to facilitate Brooklyn Bridge rehabilitation.
The south inner roadway of the Williamsburg Bridge eastbound to Brooklyn will be closed on Saturday from 5 am to noon, weather permitting, to facilitate steel repairs.
One of two lanes on the south upper roadway of the Manhattan Bridge eastbound to Brooklyn will be closed Saturday from 7 am to 4:30 pm to facilitate NYCDOT bridge reconstruction work; two westbound lanes on the north upper roadway and two eastbound lanes on the lower roadway will be open to traffic. The north upper roadway will be closed westbound to Manhattan on Sunday from 9 am to 3 pm; two lanes on the lower roadway westbound to Manhattan and two lanes on the south upper roadway eastbound to Brooklyn will be open to traffic.
