Gothamist has some details today about two fundraisers for the family of 12-year old Dashane Santana, who died walking across Delancey Street a week ago. Teresa Pedroza, the girl’s grandmother, has been trying to raise $8500 needed for the funeral and burial.
Today’s benefit will take place from 4:30-8:30 p.m. at Parkside Lounge, 317 East Houston Street. Tomorrow’s fundraiser is at Lucky Cheng’s, 24 1st Avenue. If you can’t make it to either event, but still want to contribute, send an email to family friend, Brian Bacchus at brian@soulfeastmusic.com.
The viewing will be Tuesday at the Provenzano Funeral Home, 43 2nd Avenue, 2 p.m.-9 p.m. The funeral will be held Wednesday at St. Emeric’s Catholic Church, 185 Avenue D, at 9:30 a.m.
