The Coalition to Protect Chinatown and the Lower East Side -- in front of Seward Park High School Wednesday afternoon.

Occupy Wall Street-inspired protests drift towards the Lower East Side this weekend.

Tomorrow, several organizations are planning  a “town hall meeting” at Seward Park High School, as an expression of support for the Occupty Wall Street movement. Earlier this week, activists from the Coalition to Protect Chinatown and the Lower East Side gathered in front of the school to announce the town hall, which will take place from 4-6 p.m. tomorrow. Residents are being invited to “speak out about problems they are facing, and to discuss ideas about what working people–the 99% of the community–can do together to address these problems.”

Also tomorrow, CAAAV (another advocacy organization), plans to “hold an action in support of Occupy Wall Street and the ‘Move Our Money’ campaign to get our money out of big banks.”  The “action” will take place in front of Bank of America, 50 Bayard Street, at 1 p.m. It will be followed by a “community education event” in Columbus Park at 2 p.m.
