The Brooklyn Paper reports a robber on a bicycle, brandishing a gun, stole a woman’s purse on the Williamsburg bike path this past Sunday. It happened on the Brooklyn end of the bridge, shortly after midnight.
The suspect is reported to have said: “Give me your bag. What’s in your hand?” The woman handed over an ipod and cell phone. He then told her to “be quiet,” and ordered her to run towards Manhattan. He took off into Brooklyn.
There have been other recent incidents on the bridge. Last month, Brooklyn Paper reported, an NYU student was “manhandled and robbed” on July 23rd, also on the Brooklyn side of the bridge. That attack occurred in the morning, at around 9:30 a.m.
