We just posted several photos showing the cleanup underway at the East River Co-op, where several trees were destroyed by Hurricane Irene. Right around the corner, in Corlears Hook Park, there was even more damage. A number of beautiful old trees at the end of the foot bridge leading to the East River Park Amphitheater were devastated. This afternoon, the splintered, tangled limbs became something of a spectacle, as residents descended on the park to survey the damage.

Hey! That’s me on the bike!
We have our eye on you!
All those beautiful trees! That sucks!
Very Messy! But I am happy that the trees did not fall into my building! I am on the corner of FDR and Grand.
So was this the result of a tornado?
That was a rumor I heard.
