Our friends at the Hester Street Fair have announced a brilliant new series to compliment their weekly festivities on Essex and Hester Street – it’s called the “Hester Street Truck Stop.” Each week they will invite a specially selected food truck to make the fair one of their summer stops. Kicking off the series this Saturday is the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck. You’ll be able to enjoy flavors like the “Salty Pimp” (Vanilla Ice Cream and Dulce de Leche with Sea Salt, dipped in Chocolate) and the “Bea Arthur” (with Toasted Curry Coconut).
The trucks lined up to make cameos at the fair throughout June are: Sweetery – June 4th, Schnitzel & Things – June 11th – (traditional Austrian schnitzel), Bistro Truck – June 18th – (Gourmet Moroccan and Mediteranean cuisine, including grass fed Moroccan burgers and lamb sausage) and Bian Dang – June 25 (Taiwanese Street Food, including Taiwanese fried chicken and tamales).
