Northbound FDR Drive Full Closure of Lanes Between E. Houston and E. 20th Streets Saturday and Sunday
All three northbound lanes of the FDR Drive will be closed to traffic
from East Houston Street to East 20th Street beginning at 12:01 am
Saturday, October 17th until 8:00 am Sunday, October 18th to facilitate
roadway repair work between East 14th and East 20th Streets. The
southbound lanes of the FDR Drive will remain open throughout this
period.In addition, two entrances to the northbound FDR Drive will be closed,
as well as one southbound exit: the northbound entrances to the FDR
Drive at South Street/Montgomery Street and at Pearl Street (two
ramps), and the southbound exit from the FDR Drive at East Houston
Street.
All northbound vehicles must exit the FDR Drive at East Houston Street
and use First Avenue to East 23rd Street, then return to the FDR Drive.
Motorists traveling northbound on South Street should turn left onto
northbound Montgomery Street and proceed to Grand Street and then to
Allen Street, which becomes First Avenue.
Motorists who would normally use the Pearl Street entrance should
continue northbound past the FDR entrance and turn right onto Madison
Street. Proceed on Madison eastbound to Pike Street, which becomes
Allen Street.
Southbound motorists at East Houston Street will be directed to use the
next southbound exit, at Grand Street, then turn right onto westbound
Grand Street and make a right onto northbound Pitt Street, which ends
at East Houston Street.
NYPD traffic agents will be stationed along these detour routes along
with fixed and variable message signs that will be located throughout
the impacted area during the closure.
