We are on the scene at 64 Essex (Seward Park Extension), where multiple reports came in that an officer was shot early this morning. Thanks to Lo-Down reader Carol Markel for sending this photo. She tells us: “I was awakened this morning at 4 a.m. by the droning of a helicopter flying over Seward Park Extension and my building in search of a shooter. According to 1010 WINS, a cop was shot on the 20th floor of the Extension and a man in red shorts escaped. The cop is expected to be OK. There is a huge police presence at Grand and Essex right now.”
