We’ve just returned from City Hall, where State Senator Daniel Squadron and other elected officials urged Governor Paterson to sign a bill increasing penalties against careless drivers. The legislation was introduced after the tragic deaths of Hayley Ng and Diego Martinez, two children killed by a delivery van in Chinatown last year. It was an emotional news conference attended by the families of the young victims. We’ll have a full report later today.
