An affordable housing lottery is now live for 196 rental apartments at the Grand Street Guild campus surrounding St. Mary’s Church.
The apartments at 165 Broome St. (at Clinton Street) are considered affordable to individuals and families earning between 30% and 80% of Area Median Income (AMI). Annual AMI in New York City for a family of 3 is $127,100. Rents for a studio start at $454/month and go up to $2,949 for a 3-bedroom apartment. To be eligible, applicants must have annual household incomes ranging from $18,480 to $154,080.
In the lottery, there’s a 20% preference for residents of Manhattan’s Community District 3. Applicantions must be received by August 28. Go here for more details.
Grand Street Guild is a not-for-profit organization formed by the Archdiocese of New York. The residential complex currently includes three 26-story towers with 600 apartments.
