The workshops this year included: DIY BAT, a magazine-making exercise using images from the Bowery Artist Tribute to showcase the history and legacy of the Bowery ; Creature Trading Cards, making sea-themed cards; Our New York, participants added pinpoints on a New York City map to indicate where they live, their favorite location and more; Telephone XFR, a tracing station; Postcard America, a postcard-making station to show your ideal America; and Fake Weight, a station featuring cut-outs and images.
Lisa Seitz, 40, from the Upper East Side, brought her two children to the Block Party for their second year. “I think it’s great– the free workshops and performance,” she said. “My kids, they just want to do everything.”
