Another prime corner on the Bowery appears to be destined for redevelopment.

Executives with the Lightstone Group tell The Real Deal they plan a new Moxy Hotel at 151 Bowery (at Broome St.) There are currently two lighting stores in the ground floor spaces of the three story building.

A “Memorandum of Contract of Sale” was filed with the city this week. No purchase price was listed, and Lightstone declined to disclose what they paid for the property. The current owner, Emmut Properties, picked up 151 Bowery (also known as 331-337 Broome) in 2014 for $23.5 million.

This will be the fourth Moxy Hotel in New York City. As EV Grieve reported, the 13-story Moxy East Village recently topped out on East 11th Street. The youthful-skewing brand is part of Marriott.

On Emmut Property’s website, you’ll still find plans for 331-337 Broome St. It was described as a “gorgeous 8 story mixed-use development,” offering “a unique blend of retail at street level with hotel suites and residential apartments above.” Construction was supposed to start in late 2016/early 2017. Across the street at 138-142 Bowery, Emmut Properties put up a new residential building, demolishing several historic buildings.
