This afternoon’s Instagram feed turns up the abstract photo posted here and news that the latest Clinton Street bar, Windmill on Clinton, is making an informal debut tonight.
This spot is a new project from the team behind Le French Diner, the much-loved Orchard Street hole-in-the-wall. This evening’s initial soiree is described as a “soft soft” opening. You can stop by at 43 Clinton St. any time after 6 p.m. for cocktails, natural wines and small plates.
A sample menu provided to Community Board 3 earlier this year was pretty extensive. Think French classics: escargots, steak tartare, pork rillettes, cassoulet, etc.
Windmill on Clinton is taking over from Galeria, the Brazilian cafe and arts space.
