A taxi burst into flames on the Manhattan Bridge earlier today. While the accident caused major traffic delays, no one was injured.
The incident occurred a little after 1 p.m. on the upper level of the bridge. It took firefighters about an hour to put the flames out. The car was completely destroyed. All lanes were closed at one point but have since reopened.
City transportation officials were checking to make sure there’s no damage to the bridge’s infrastructure.
