Emergency crews are on the scene on East Broadway this morning where a water main burst overnight. They’re working in the area around Clinton Street and East Broadway. Cars are not being allowed through the area this morning, and some vehicles are being towed. According to officials, a sinkhole has developed in the street. Water service has been shut off in the vicinity, impacting some buildings but not others. Firefighters are going door to door, warning residents in tenement buildings along East Broadway about the situation. Service in the Seward Park Cooperative, however, has not been cut off.
