City is Now Installing Stop Signs, Pedestrian Island at Pitt & Delancey Streets

Things don’t usually happen very quickly at City Hall, but here’s something that is getting done in a relatively short time-frame. Brian Crowley just came across this scene at the intersection of Pitt and Delancey streets.  Acting on the concerns of a local resident who then galvanized different groups in the community, the Department of Transportation agreed to make safety improvements here. Stop signs and a pedestrian island are now being installed. Four months ago, DOT officials briefed Community Board 3 on their plan.   Click here for more details from our previous coverage.
