New York Fashion Week drew photographers, designers, models, stylists and others to the Lower East Side, Chinatown, and nearby neighborhoods last week.
Art Hearts Fashion held runway shows at Angel Orensanz Foundation on Norfolk Street. Bowery Showroom on Stanton Street hosted fashion pop-ups and parties. And designer Phillip Lim presented a fashion installation on Broadway near Canal Street, which happened to coincide with Lunar New Year, Feb. 10.

New York kicks of the season of fashion week runway shows followed by London, Milan, and Paris. In the Lower East Side and surrounding neighborhoods, the fashion showings extended from the runways to the sidewalks.
Fashionably dressed people posed for street photographers, as locals and out-of-towners traveled to events.

“The wolf in the sheep’s skin” is how the model VR Jay of Houston, Texas described his oversized faux fur pants and hood by NiMing.

Designers may be showing looks from their upcoming Fall/Winter 2024 (FW24) collections, but that doesn’t keep some people from shopping for what’s in stores now.

Guests and passersby browsed at Snow Xue Gao‘s flagship on Bowery, where she presented a collection focused on outerwear for fashion week.
“I love her plaids,” a woman commented to friends, as they admired the patterned wool coats in the display window of Gao’s boutique.
