Mark Miller Gallery Reopens With Hektad Show December 1

After a two year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Mark Miller gallery space (92 Orchard St.) will reopen on December 1st with a special exhibition showcasing work by fun loving Bronx street artist Hektad. Known for covering the streets with hearts, the artist has been part of the New York City graffiti scene since the ’80s. After a hiatus in the early 2000’s, Hektad came back to the streets and gained attention by spreading colorful messages proclaiming, “I choose love.”

Bringing a smile to people’s faces is the priority for both the artist and Mark Miller, who notes, “looking at the graffiti art of Hektad is like finding joy and even catharsis- without having to pay a therapist.”

The opening reception is free and open to the public on Wednesday, December 1st, from 5 – 8 pm. Masks will be required.  The show will run through the end of December.
