If you’ve been meaning to make it to Le Turtle, the self-proclaimed “French new wave” spot on Chrystie Street, you’re too late. The fashionable restaurant served its last meal Jan. 26.

A sign on the window reads, “We are permanently closed. Stay tuned for our next project.” There’s a similar announcement on Instagram, advising, “We will have more announcements soon.”

Le Turtle was opened in late 2015 by Taavo Somer (best known in this neighborhood for Freemans) and Carlos Quirarte of the Smile.
