One of our favorite blocks, Mosco Street, is going to be closed for three months starting next Monday, March 19.
Notices went up in Chinatown recently about the closure, which is needed for the Worth Street Reconstruction Project. The city’s Department of Design & Construction is overseeing the installation of new water main pipes and catch basins (thanks to Jan Lee for sending the above photo).
Mosco Street runs for just one block, between Mott and Mulberry streets. According to the notice, the work is expected to take 12 weeks. No vehicles will be allowed on the street once construction begins, and there will be no parking, although sidewalks will remain open.
Right now, the notice is only posted in English (there should obviously be Chinese flyers in this location, as well). If you have questions, contact Liz Baptiste at 646-559-2706
